Diego Alaimo is Head of the Multi-Asset – Indirect Private Strategies division at Generali Asset Management. In this role, he covers the investment selection and portfolio management of private asset funds and mandates. He manages buyouts, growth capital, direct lending, mezzanine, and core/core-plus infrastructure investments, executed as primaries, secondaries, and co-investments.
Prior to joining Generali, he was a member of the fund-of-funds team at Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, where he executed primary fund investments in private equity and private debt helping the set-up of emerging managers in Italy. He began his career as a proprietary trader at Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, managing the banking book and the alternative investments portfolio of the bank.
Diego graduated from the University of Siena and obtained an Executive Master in Finance at SDA Bocconi in Milan.
