William Barrett is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Reach Capital, one of Europe's leading independent private markets advisory and placement firms, with offices in Paris, London, Madrid, Frankfurt and Copenhagen.
William co-founded Reach Capital in 2015 at the age of 28, making him one of the youngest founders of a placement agent in the industry's history. He brings more than 15 years of private markets experience and has advised over 50 GP clients across primary fundraising, liquidity solutions and strategic advisory, with the firm having advised on more than €40bn in aggregate.
Under his leadership, Reach Capital has built a fully integrated platform spanning private equity, private credit, infrastructure and secondaries, alongside a dedicated private wealth channel — one of the first of its kind among European placement agents. William has been a consistent advocate for the democratisation of private markets and the evolution of liquidity solutions across the asset class.
William has played an active role in shaping France's private markets ecosystem. He served as Chairman of France Invest's Club Avenir and was appointed to advise the French Finance Ministry on its Tibi 2 initiative — with Reach Capital the only placement agent to participate in the ETEF group, which facilitated the deployment of €12bn into French technology companies.
He was named a Rising Star of Private Equity by Private Equity News and PDI in 2024 and recognised in PEI's 40 Under 40 list.
