James is Managing Partner of Duke Street. He began his career with Phillip Capital before founding Cornhill Asset Management in 2004, including Cornhill Capital and Cornhill International Payments. James exited Cornhill via a sale to a US based private equity firm and became a Director of Octopus Investments, where he was responsible for starting and building the private capital business across VC & PE through to Real Estate, Energy & Infrastructure.
James has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter, is a CFA charterholder and a guest lecturer on PE at London Business School. He has also served as a senior adviser to the Charities Aid Foundation, advising their charities, trusts and endowments on investments.
