Thibaud Escalon has more than 15 years of sustainable finance experience across banking and asset management. He joined BBVA in 2022 and is Managing Director within the Sustainability & Low Carbon Advisory team, leading the practice globally for Financial Institutions, Public Sector, and Consumer & Retail. Thibaud advises BBVA’s clients in the implementation of their Sustainability and Decarbonization Strategies and structures sustainable finance transactions across instruments and thematics to drive growth, resilience and competitive edge.
Previously, Thibaud headed ESG & Climate Consultants for French Speaking Europe at MSCI ESG Research, advising major European institutions in the integration of Sustainability & Climate into their investment process. Prior to this, he was the Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Investment Officer at AXA, where he oversaw the integration of ESG and climate across €500bn in assets, co-authored award-winning TCFD / Article 173 reports, and led the design and deployment of a €25bn green investment program.
Thibaud holds a Master in Finance from EDHEC Business School and is a CFA charterholder. He is a Visiting Professor at ESSEC Business School.
