Mr. Tigay has over 27 years of experience in private equity. Prior to founding ARC in 2024, he was the
CIO of Rhône Group, a premier private equity investment manager based in New York and London
with a trans-Atlantic remit, managing over $10 billion. Mr. Tigay held this role since 2015 after joining
the firm as a partner in 2007 from Lazard. He started his career as a Mergers & Acquisitions advisor at
Lazard in 1989. In 1997, he was a founding member of Lazard Capital Partners, a private equity fund
managing Lazard partner and firm capital, and later a Managing Principal of Lazard’s Corporate
Partners’ private equity fund. Mr. Tigay was also the Head of Strategic Planning for Lazard and played
a leadership role in structuring and implementing its $850 million IPO in 2005.
Mr. Tigay has experience across a wide range of sectors, including chemicals, materials, distribution,
packaging, energy services, industrials, consumer, restaurants, education, media, and software.
Mr. Tigay has chaired or been lead director of many private and public boards of directors. His
investment experience spans North America and Europe, with portfolio company oversight covering
operations in nearly every major OECD and emerging market globally. He is a former investment
committee member of Parkwood, a trust company associated with the Mandel family in Cleveland,
OH, managing $9 billion in assets.
Mr. Tigay holds a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where he
was a Member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
