Description
Thierry Déau is Meridiam’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He founded Meridiam, an independent investment Benefit Corporation, specialized in the development, financing, and management of long-term and sustainable infrastructure projects in 2005, with the belief that the alignment of interests between the public and private sector can provide critical solutions to the collective needs of communities. Managing over EUR 24 Billion of assets under management, the firm has to date more than 130 projects under development, construction or in operation.
Prior to Meridiam, Thierry worked for France’s Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations where he held several positions with its engineering and development subsidiary Egis Projects, moving up from project manager, then director for concession projects to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in 2001.
Thierry is a former member of the Investment Committee of the European Fund for Strategic Investment, and is currently a board member (Vice Chair) of Fondation des Ponts, founder of the Africa Infrastructure fellowship program Foundation (AIFP Foundation) and Chair of The Fast Infra Group (FIG), a non-profit association created in 2022 which aims at providing solutions for mobilizing large-scale financing to acceleration the development of sustainable infrastructure worldwide. He is honorary Chair of the Long Term Infrastructure Association (“LTIIA”) that has merged into Invest Europe.
Thierry is also the founder and Chair of the Archery Foundation, which supports young talents from underprivileged areas in France in their personal and professional development.
He graduated from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées engineering School.
