Alexandre Schmitz is Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director of A2Z Private Capital. He has established the Firm’s presence across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe, and is responsible for distribution and GP client origination.
Alexandre founded the Firm in Singapore in September 2012 as Capstone Partners Asia Pte Ltd. Until March 2023, he led Capstone Partners’ Asia Pacific operations as a Managing Partner.
Prior to joining Capstone Partners, Alexandre spent more than 15 years with the Cobepa Group, first as an Investment Director at PAI Partners, then as a Member of the Executive Committee of Cobepa, and subsequently as CEO of BeCapital. During this period, he was responsible for sourcing and executing growth buyout and cleantech investments across Europe. He also served as an active non-executive board member of nine industrial companies spanning a broad range of sectors, stages of development, corporate situations and geographies.
Earlier in his career, Alexandre was a professor at the National Economics University in Hanoi and the Open University in Ho Chi Minh City, and a lecturer at Solvay Business School.
Alexandre began his career as a Financial Analyst at Bank Degroof, one of Belgium’s leading independent private and investment banks.
Alexandre graduated magna cum laude from the Université Catholique de Louvain with a Master’s degree in Economics and is also a Certified European Financial Analyst.
