Description
Sophie Paturle is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Demeter IM. She has strong private equity experience, gained at BTP Capital, Crédit du Nord, and later Société Générale, before co-founding Demeter in 2005 — a pioneering and leading private equity firm focused on ecological transition in Europe.Demeter IM manages €1.3 billion and has invested in more than 220 companies and projects that offer solutions to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. All funds managed by Demeter are classified as “Article 9” under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
Previously, Sophie worked as an auditor at PwC. She currently serves on the boards of CNRS, IFP Energies Nouvelles, Hexaôm (a listed mid-cap company), and several Demeter portfolio companies such as Avidsen, Gireve, and Instant System.
An active member of France Invest for nearly 25 years, Sophie founded and chaired the “France Invest with Women” Committee and the “Industry and Ecological Transition” Committee. She has also previously served on France Invest's Board of Directors.
Sophie is also an Ambassador for *France 2030*, the government-backed plan launched in 2021 to support innovation, industrialisation, and research. She is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris, holds a Master’s degree in Economics, and the DECF (French accounting qualification). She is a Knight of the National Order of Merit and a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
On June 19th, 2025, Sophie Paturle was unanimously elected Chair of France Invest for a two-year term. She succeeds Bertrand Rambaud (Groupe Siparex), who had held the position since June 2023.
