Some private banks prefer to curate a small number of carefully selected funds, citing better terms and avoiding confusion of clients. Others prefer to distribute 25-30 funds, providing diversification and a one-stop shop. How do banks determine the optimal product shelf? What client segments demand more or less choice? At what point does product proliferation become overwhelming?
