FrenchFood is a specialized investment management firm dedicated to the food industry, overseeing €450M in assets under management. Its mission is to serve as the value-added partner for companies shaping the future of food. The firm was founded by Paul Moutinho (formerly Naxicap Partners), Laurent Plantier (co-founder of Alain Ducasse Enterprises), and Perrine Bismuth (CSR and impact strategy expert), and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of 20 investment professionals with deep expertise across the food value chain.
FrenchFood Capital I (€132M, launched in 2018) has already returned 80% of invested capital and currently holds eight remaining portfolio companies, balanced across retail and consumer goods. Co-investments totaling €33M account for 26% of the portfolio.
The second fund targets €250M by July 2025, with €150M already raised and €80M deployed across six investments, reaching a 1.25x valuation as of December 2024. Two flagship investments currently stand at 2.62x and 1.22x valuations, respectively.
FrenchFood has further strengthened its platform through the acquisition of Agro Invest, a €100M portfolio. Agro Invest is concurrently raising a second fund (€100M target, €60M raised as of December 2024). Agro Invest focuses on companies with enterprise values below €25M, while FrenchFood Positive Impact targets those above €25M.
