Charles Edouard Bouée
AIC
CEO, Quartermaster.ai (AIQ) | Co-Founder, Adagia Partners and Alpha Intelligence Capital
Description
Charles-Edouard Bouée has spent three decades at the intersection of capital, technology and
global strategy. He has led an international consulting firm through crisis and renewal, built private
equity and venture platforms across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and, a decade ago, was
among the first to describe how artificial intelligence would reshape economies, sovereignty and
power. Across each chapter the intent has been constant: building institutions and ideas that outlast
the moment, and leaving the next generation better equipped to shape a world transformed by
intelligent machines.
Quartermaster.ai (AIQ) – one thesis, four instruments
He is CEO of Quartermaster.ai (AIQ), the dual-family office through which his activities are now
consolidated. AIQ carries venture capital through Alpha Intelligence Capital, private equity through
Adagia Partners, a direct growth portfolio, and an advisory practice serving investors and corporates.
One conviction binds them: artificial intelligence has become the determining variable of enterprise value,
whatever the stage, the geography or the asset class.
Private equity – capital that builds
Adagia Partners, which he co-founded and led as Managing Partner from inception, is a European
MidCap firm with €1.5 billion under management. It takes control positions in established companies in
Healthcare, Business Services and Tech Industrials across France, DACH and Benelux, and deploys AI
as a transversal value-creation lever across the portfolio.
Venture capital and global AI investment – technology that elevates
Alpha Intelligence Capital (AIC), which he co-founded, is a $500 million global venture platform backing
early- and growth-stage companies built on deep, science-based AI across Europe, Asia and the Middle
East. He served on the World Economic Forum's Global AI Council.
Global leadership – leadership that inspires
From 2013 to 2019 he was Global CEO of Roland Berger, the only leading strategy consulting firm of
European origin, which he led from crisis through transformation, restoring its independence and setting
the course it still follows today. He speaks French, English and German.
Author and thought leader on AI – societies that thrive
Written in 2016 and published in 2017, before the generative AI wave, The Fall of the Human Empire
(Grasset; Bloomsbury) set out how machine intelligence would transform work, sovereignty and the
relationship between humans and machines, and remains a foundational reference on the subject. Ten
years on, its questions, who controls intelligence and what that means for human societies, sit at the
centre of the choices investors and governments now face. He is the author of six books on
management, China and AI, including Light Footprint Management and Re-entrepreneuring.
